The old town, or "old town", is the oldest part of the city. It is bordered by the Garibaldi Square and the hill of the Chateau to the north-east, the Cours Saleya and the sea to the south, west Paillon tunnel. Built from the fourteenth century to the nineteenth century, it has a very varied architectural fabric and beautiful facades of ocher, red and yellow tones. It is also recommended to stop in one of the traditional biscuit factories or to a local small restaurant to taste the specialties of Nice.
