The city with 300 days of sunshine

Adjacent to the west of Monaco and Menton in the east, the town of Roquebrune is divided into two or three distinct parts. Start by the village, located on the hills, with its medieval castle and dungeon from the 10th century- the oldest in France, are listed historical as monuments. Then comes the bottom, along the coast, which concentrates most of the population and services, and finally Cap Martin itself, in the far west, a vast green oasis studded with hotels, beautiful properties and exclusive residences surrounding the beautiful park of olive trees and ancient trees. Many individuals still contribute to the fame of the city such as the Empress Elisabeth of Austria, Winston Churchill, Coco Chanel or Romain Gary who came to rest or seek inspiration.

Calm and sunny 300 days a year, with beautiful beaches and many activities available to residents, Roquebrune -Cap- Martin is definitively a good place to live. As a result, property prices Roquebrunois are in a high range - near Monaco and Italy, just 10 minutes by car, partly this fact - but the buyer willing to live year-round or during his vacation in the town can find a fairly wide range of offers, whether its a small apartment pied-à -terre (studio or 1 bedroom) or a beautiful and modern villa, often with a flat and a swimming pool.

The town is full of places to discover. Examples include Vallonet Cave, an archaeological site where human and animal remains (tools, bones ) highlight the presence of Homo Erectus there a million years ago.
The city also withnessed the Romans who built the station to Lumone vocation coaching. There now remains only in arcades, arches and fragments of frescoes.
The ancient olive grove is also a must-see. It is estimated that it would have been planted in 400 AD by the Romans. It would be the oldest olive grove in Europe .
Finally, the castle and medieval village overlooking Cap Martin gives a medieval character to the city with its archways and fortified doors. Theatrical and musical evenings are hosted in the amphitheater with exceptional views. Passersby enjoy the scenic spots of the village as the place of Captain Vincent, the cul-de-sac of rue Four and rue Pié.

Various elements constitute the architectural heritage of Cap Martin. Note the Cabanon Le Corbusier, a minimalist habitat located near the sea, the villa E -1027 by Eileen Gray, a symbol of the modern architecture of the past, and finally the Chapel Bon Voyage, also emblematic of the city.

Youth, MBE Recreation offers youth aged 13 to 17 years of skiing holidays, but also activities such as table football and table tennis. We may also mention the leisure center Orméa which organizes art workshops for the benefit of children aged 6 to 11 years. The infants can, in turn, be greeted by the activity center La Plage.
