e Suquet is none other than the oldest district of Cannes. It is sort of the "old town". There is a castle and chapel Sainte- Anne around which grew a real fortified village. They now house the Musée de la Castre where collections of primitive art, Mediterranean antiquities, paintings of landscapes and musical instruments from around the world are exposed.
The tower of Le Suquet, the Chapel of St. Anne and the Church of Our Lady of Hope are also the historical monuments in the area and are located on the Place de la Castre. It boasts a panoramic view of the city, the back countryside, the bay of Cannes and the Esterel which is very popular with tourists.
It is recommended to browse the Forville market, built with the real colors of Provence, led by its merchants and local fishermen offering seasonal produce, local fish and flowers. The area is also full of small restaurants where you can taste traditional Mediterranean cuisine.
In summer, outdoor concerts are held at night in the Suquet where bands, performers, soloists and young talent revive your ears to classical music performances.
